As our guests came in they were handed a fan--after all, this June 18th was going to be Hot! The fans were put in an old vintage basket that has faded bluebirds painted on it. [The bluebirds of happiness! Lots of symbolism going on here!]

The Wedding Favors

Daddy loved trees, all kinds, nut, fruit, and flowering. We had a couple of pecan groves and still have quite a few trees. Another one of the "family" items--Granddaddy Tatlock's pecans, gathered by Uncle John, shelled and toasted by Aunt Ellen to give out as wedding favors. They were appreciated, we only had three left!

Mr. and Mrs. Cake Forks [vintage silver]

Megan and Logan had cake forks stamped with Mr. and Mrs. We forgot to use them, they ate the cake with their fingers [which was probably more fun anyway!] and these looked beautiful on the plateau mirror!

Our Entry

This was very much a "family" wedding. It involved all our family members, even ones no longer with us. This dresser and the old doors came from T.P.'s house. T.P. was my daddy's best friend and we all loved him. He was always considered a member of our family and came to eat frequently. After daddy died T.P. kept coming to eat and finally I suggested that Mother marry him so he could buy some of the groceries! She did, he was then "officially" a member of our family and I know it made him as happy as it did us! The kids never knew my daddy as their granddaddy, only T.P., so the doors from his house were significant to them.
